The white ball was a tumor - right in the middle of my brain, between the lobes.
The surgeons cut my head open, removed a 2"x4" piece of skull, inserted a probe down into my brain, between the lobes, and removed the tumor. They closed me up with metal connectors to repair skull and 44 staples in skin.
